Look at our adorable little models. The kids below are modeling outfits provided by Kidstop. It is fantastic and convenient having our studio so close to a children’s boutique like Kidstop. We share so many of the same clients, so we keep in touch about current trends and what we both have to offer. I have, numerous times, had the opportunity to take clients down to Kidstop and help them pick out the outfits I feel will photograph best. If you ever have the need for this personal service, just ask. It will give you a great head start toward an amazing photo session.
This was our first modeling session and we are just getting our feet wet. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming year as we work closely with Kidstop to help clients in choosing appropriate clothing for their sessions and helping to relieve photo day stress. To make things easier for clients, each quarter I will choose outfits that I feel will photograph best in our studio. Also, the staff at Kidstop have a great feel for what I like to see in the studio. So when shopping for your clothes, be sure to tell them you are having photos done at Captured Moments Photography.
So, here are our little cuties and their adorable outfits….
I’m so happy that we decided to add this Limited Edition to our 2008 calendar. The Fall Families sessions were a huge success and we were blessed with beautiful scenery and weather. And yes, we got the message that these are very popular sessions. These sessions booked up very fast so I’m sure we will do it again next year.
Thanks to everyone who participated in the Limited Edition, we really enjoyed working with everyone. We are really proud to be able to create beautiful family images that you can treasure for years and years.
Here are just a few of our favorites (if you don’t see yours, it’s not that we don’t love you too, but its Christmas and we are crazy busy.)
Yes it’s true; I’ve become the plumber with rusty pipes. I’m the photographer that is months behind on taking her own childrens’ images. Jaxon turned 4 in May and Jillian turned 7 in June, yet I just their annual portraits. Am I a bad mom? Nah….just a busy mom. And I’m sure many of you are busy moms as well. It’s okay…really. I mean think about it… they’re going to be 4 and 7 all year long, so as I long as I get them photographed in that year I figure I’m okay. I think that we moms put way to much pressure on ourselves.
So here they are, aren’t they just the cutest things ever? Okay, so maybe I’m partial, but really… look how cute! Jaxon is at such an adorable age. He is full of questions and cute little sayings that just keep Jason and I in stitches. The other day, out of nowhere, he asked “Daddy, what’s God’s last name?” How precious is that? And Jillian is my little “Sassy-Pants.” She is full of personality and opinions. She designed her own session and came up with her own poses. THE DRAMA! Honestly, I don’t know where she gets it… Hehe! Both of them are so much fun, I am a truly lucky Mom.

I’m seeing RED, but it’s a good thing. Check out my favorite new studio prop. I knew I was going to love this couch, but I had no idea how much. These images are so much fun and really contemporary, which I love. And of course, anyone who comes into my studio knows that I’m crazy about red.
It works great for regular family images as well as Christmas images. Below are samples of my first 3 sessions using the couch. These families were a lot of fun and willing to try something different. I’m so fortunate to have such trusting clients. Enjoy…

A benefit for the Junior League of Owensboro Layette Project
Bring and donate a NEW Layette item and receive a complimentary 4×5 image of your little Trick-Or-Treater in our Halloween set. No Purchase necessary, packages are available.
This is a great cause. The Layettes are given to mothers in significant need before they leave the hospital. The program benefits the tri-county area and has had significant budget cuts in the past year, so now more than ever they need our support. Captured Moments Photography is proud to sponsor the event and we appreciate your participation.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact the studio at 270-685-5164. No appointment is necessary for this event.
What ever your kids call them… September 7th was Grandparent’s Day and we think its time to celebrate. We love those great babysitters, cheek pinchers, kiss stealers, and general spoilers of all children.
My mom was recently visiting from Missouri and I realized I have never taken studio images of my mom with my kids. I have done it for my in-laws and for my dad, but not my mom. My mom means the world to me, she is completely responsible for many of my values and beliefs and I couldn’t believe that I had not captured the beautiful relationship between my kids and her. I think that when she comes to visit we always get wrapped up in a project and we don’t have spare time to get in the studio. Plus, she is never willing to jump in front of the camera (I’m the same way.) So, this entry is my vow that the next time we see her, we are going to capture some really nice relationship images. Yes it’s for me, but more importantly it’s for my children.
I recently lost my last living grandparent and I wish I had images of them with me; yes I have pictures, but not images that really reflect the relationship I had with them. I want to give that gift to my children.
I encourage all of you to think about this. Wouldn’t it be wonderful to have images created of the most important people in your entire life - your parents and your children? I’m not talking about booking a session for your parents to come in with ALL the grandkids, I mean just your kids. A gift not just for the grandparents, but a gift for your children that they will always cherish. I think this is so important that I’ve decided to create a new product for it, an album of 10 4×5 images (all retouched.) as a keepsake album.
Here are some of our kids; you may have seen them before. When I get the images of the kids with my mom, I’ll post them. I’m thinking of an outside session, maybe walking hand-in-hand like the beach portrait with my mother-in-law below.
So, I am sooo bored with our backgrounds. I know they are new to many of you, and you love them… but you don’t have to look at them EVERY day. So, I’ve been getting creative and making some new backgrounds. I’ve featured them below and would love to hear what you think.
Shelby and Jessica are my models for the “Lollipop Crush” background. I think this looks really fun and both these girls love purple, how could we go wrong? Shelby is the cutest little girl and I have enjoyed watching her grow up over the past several years. I always look forward to her sessions because we just laugh and laugh. Jessica, our senior model brought this flower shirt (her favorite t-shirt) in on a whim and never thought I would pick it for her senior pictures. But look at the personality – I love it!
Abe and Devon are modeling the “Chandelier” background. I’m really excited about this one; I think it will work great for Christmas images and cards. To me it looks sophisticated and modern. Not that Abe cared about being sophisticated and modern, he just cared that he was two years old and got a John Deere Gator for his birthday. Now Devon, our other senior model, on the other hand was looking for something to reflect her personality a bit more. I think she looks fantastic.
We are looking for a Senior in High School to work part-time in the studio. Know anyone who might be interested? Send ‘em our way.
This is a really fun job and we have enjoyed the girls who worked for us in the past. Heather and Sarah (seen below) were great additions to the studio, but they’re off to college and now we’re missing that crucial senior element.
If you know of someone who might be interested, have them call the studio at 685-5164. Most important qualities: responsible, enthusiastic, and self-motivated.
DODIE CONDER - Captured Moments Photography’s first ever Employee of the Year!!!! Okay, so maybe there wasn’t much competition there, but even if there were, we know that no one could ever compare to our Dodie.
I can’t believe it but Dodie, our Office Manager, has been with us more than a year now. I don’t know how I handled things before she started with us. I can honestly say that hiring her has been the best business decision we’ve ever made.
Dodie started out as one of our very first clients. Her kids, Kelsey and Brett became regulars at the old studio and we all quickly became friends. We were honored when she told us she was interested in working for us and we didn’t wait too long to swipe her up. Thank goodness we did.
Thanks for all your hard work Dodie, you’re the best.
We are so fortunate to have clients who come back to us time and time again. We appreciate your loyalty and feel so honored to be able to watch your little ones grow. Some of these little ones we only see once or twice a year and I just can’t believe how much they change.
Here are several small, return clients that have been in the studio this past week. How cute are they???? And look at all their distinct personalities, I really enjoyed each session. I have to say, these kids help keep me young.
